EMS

The Borough of Shippensburg is served by two Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers. These providers are Shippensburg Area EMS and West Shore Advanced Life Support(ALS). Shippensburg Area EMS is staffed by a combination of paid career and volunteer members, while West Shore ALS is staffed by all paid career members.

Shippensburg Area EMS

Shippensburg Area EMS provides emergency and non-emergency ambulance transportation, basic life support, and other medical support services. In addition, they provide community education and training which teaches life saving CPR and first aid. They operate a fleet of four ambulances and two quick response vehicles. Funding is provided through user fees and an annual subscription program. For an annual fee, the subscription covers an ambulance ride for the head of household and any other family members living in the household.

West Shore ALS is a part of West Shore EMS which is a community focused health care support system sponsored by the Sisters of Christian Charity. West Shore ALS provides paramedic services for advance life support. They work in conjunction with Shippensburg Area EMS to provide a full range of emergency medical support.
