Tax Collector

Shippensburg Borough personal and real estate taxes are collected by an elected tax collector. Borough tax
bills are mailed on March 1st of each year. A two percent discount is offered on tax bills paid by April 30th.The full amount of the tax bill is due if paid between May 1 and June 30. There is a ten percent penalty for all tax bills paid after June 30. Tax bills paid after December 20 must be paid in cash.

 

The current tax collector is Shippensburg Borough Tax Office, who can be reached at 717-532-2147. The tax collectors office is located in the Borough Municipal Building at 111 N. Fayette Street. Office hours are:

Monday – Friday

8:30 am to 4:30 pm

A mil is 1.00 per 1000 dollars of assessed value. For example, a house assessed at $100,000 in Cumberland
County would pay $260.00 (100 X 2.60)

 

The Borough tax collector also collects taxes for the Shippensburg Area School District. Those tax bills are mailed August 1st.
