Shippensburg Borough Council will be accepting Letters of Interest for the following
Shippensburg Borough boards and commissions:

BOROUGH AUTHORITY
The Borough Authority is responsible for the operation of the Shippensburg water system by approving the operating and capital budgets for the Water Department, authorizing construction projects and the maintaining of the overall water system, which includes a water treatment plant, two(2) well sites, four(4) stand pipes and approximately 80 miles of water lines. The Authority also acts as a financing authority for the Borough's sewer system, which includes a wastewater treatment plant and collection system. |

PLANNING COMMISSION
Review and recommend to Borough Council to approve or not approve submitted subdivisions and land development plans per the Borough's Subdivision/Land Development Ordinance and the PA Municipalities Planning Code. |

ZONING HEARING BOARD
Hear and rule on appeals to the Existing Structures Ordinance pertaining to maintenance of rental units. |
|
INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
The Industrial Development Authority provides better, lower interest cost financing for industries interested in locating in Shippensburg and for industries already located in Shippensburg for expansion needs. This financing is provided through State loans and/or grants, which are applied for through the IDA. The IDA then makes this money available to industry. Members of the IDA review applications for loans and approve or deny such, based on their review. |

EXISTING STRUCTURES BOARD OF APPEALS
Hear and act on appeals to the Existing Structures Ordinance pertaining to maintenance of rental units. |
|
ENTERPRISE ZONE LOAN COMMITTEE
Hear and act on applications for Enterprise Zone industrial loans in a designated area within the Borough. |
|
PLUMBING BOARD OF APPEALS
Hears and acts on appeals relative to the Borough's Plumbing Code. |
|
PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD
Recommends recreational programs and activities to the Borough Council. |
|
UNIFORM CONSTRUCTION CODE APPEALS BOARD
Hears and acts on appeals relative to the Borough's Uniform Construction Code. |
